Built in 1830, the cottage provides an ideal base for visitors seeking a holiday with a country or city focus. The beautiful Peak Park with picturesque towns and villages is easily accessible via nearby Langsett. The area caters for all tastes - including the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, National Coal Mining Museum, Magna Science Adventure Centre and Eureka (Museum for Children) as well as Holmfirth, famous for Last of the Summer Wine TV Series. Bikes can be hired in nearby Penistone and a mile away Rocky's western riding adventures offers a range of 'cowboy-style' treks.

The 3 vibrant Northern cities of Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester are equidistant and all accessible by public transport. They have theatres, concert halls, museums and galleries in abundance. Leave the car and take the bus to Penistone for regular trains to Leeds or Sheffield centres. Or a 20 minute drive to Glossop provides similar rail access to Manchester Piccadilly. Parking is free at the local stations.
