Womersley Park is a striking Yorkshire residence with roots going back to the establishment of Pontefract Castle by Ilbert de Lacy in 1080. Once described as ‘one of Yorkshire’s most picturesque properties.

The Park is not normally open to the general public, with the exception of occasional concerts and events.

By Road:
Directions from M62 East and West
Exit M62 at J33 onto A1 – south direction

Directions from A1 North
Exit A1 at Barnsdale Bar Junction – signposted A639 Pontefract
Take the first left hand turn once exited junction – signposted Campsall

Directions from A1 South
Exit A1 at Barnsdale Bar Junction – signposted A639 Pontefract
Take the first right hand exit towards Campsall and go over A1 flyover – then the first left to Campsall

Then...
Travel along Woodfield Road for 200 yards.
Take the first left and travel down Whiteley Road and then Greengate road until you reach the staggered crossroads. Be careful. Go straight ahead.
Carry straight on at the next junction and by pass Kirk Smeaton – following the signs for Womersley.
Travel down Willowbridge Road and Churchfield Road – keeping straight on until you reach the Park entrance signposted on your left hand side.

The distance from the A1 to the Park entrance is 3.5 miles
